It's similar to a PDA, but it projects a magically powered hologram 2 feet in front of Orea, with a configuration similar to an iPhone's, that lets the little device act as a cellphone, gps, inventory and basic camera. The main perk to Orea's model of the PDA is that it can take physical items, convert them to basic data and make them disappear, then when the item is needed again, it reads the data and recreates the item.
